Painted hallway, stairs, landing, dining room in Dulux Gardenia - like a creamy magnolia. Thought it looked warm and classy.
Now decorating adjoining rooms and drawn towards grey tones but feeling I'd BU to use them as they 'don't go' with the creamy tone of Gardenia. Feeling a bit upset that I didn't think this through when I first started decorating and will end up with a mismatched series of rooms rather than the classy pad I'd like.
Doing decorating myself and the thought of starting all over again colour wise is beyond me.

Go with a greige colour?

msmith501 · 21/09/2019 06:34

I think with the right greys and well thought out lighting that the two might go quite nicely together. I certainly wouldn't start again as you'll get used to the colours anyway.

Hi Op, google pairing grey with cream and go to images. Both are neutrals and can work very well together if you do it well.

Just to warn you, there was a long thread recently about the demise of grey, with many mners hating on it. Go with what you like, it’s your space to live in. My house is various greys and rich warm woods with the odd accent and it’s cosy, warm and not industrial.

According to the Dulux website, these colours go with Gardenia.

Can I just recommend B and Q Merida. It's a lovely colour that is cream in some light and grayish in others.

Bluesheep8 · 21/09/2019 08:02

F and B skimming stone op!

The other way to bring the rooms together to accent one room with the colour from the other, so maybe cream rugs or throws in the grey room but within reason not too much.

It should work if you use the same tones in the different colours.
