On phone in waiting room

I probably should have said something.... Why didn’t I say something? Why didn’t anyone say something??? I was at in the GP’s waiting room, which was predictably heaving and running late, and this older woman (could have been anywhere between late 60’s and 80 - hard to tell over the garish clothing and loud voice) was shouting into her mobile phone, on speaker, clearly conducting business that she wanted the whole universe to know about.... She seemed to be campaigning to raise funds from the daughter of a deceased millionaire on the other side of the country, and it was imperative that it was done NOW! The poor sap that she was shouting at was expected to provide this woman’s phone number. (Of course!!!) Her Doctor couldn’t get her attention, and I finally said “Excuse me, your doctor has been calling you!”.... when she rudely ended her phone call, and toddled off with the doctor, the whole room said “Oh thank God!!!” The guy next to me said “She was doing my head in!!!”
In hindsight, I could have nicely asked her to take her phone call outside....

It is up to the receptionist to tell her to turn off her phone not the patients. Where was the receptionist during all this? I find elderly people to be more rude and bad mannered than young people. For example I was sitting in my car and an old woman open the car next to me and banged it several times into my car badly denting it. I confronted her about is and her reply was "You shouldn't have parked so close to my daughter's car" "Excuse me but your daughter parked her car after me you ignorant old cow!" - I didn't say that because I was brought up to respect your elders,
