Being over sensitive or bitchy Mum?

Haven’t had much sleep recently, so possibly being a tad over sensitive but not sure.
Took Dd, 14 months to her swimming lesson today (at one of the mums houses in her outdoor pool) it’s her second lesson there as I’m friends with the swim teacher and she suggested a small group go there so this Mum can have baby friends for her baby.
Anyway, she seemed ok, but then today when we were in the pool she kept looking at my Dd and then said ‘Does she ‘Talk?!’ in a quite bitchy, judgey, shouldn’t she be talking yet way (Dd talks A LOT at home, but for some reason does go really quiet during her swim lessons 🤷‍♀️) no biggie, perhaps she’ll be shy..I don’t know.
Later when we were getting changed, she said ‘How old is she, 11 months?’ When I said her age, she looked visibly shocked and said ‘I assumed she was younger than that’
When I was driving home I just felt a bit shitty and protective of my girl...am I being ridiculous? or was she being bitchy? Pissed me off! Haven’t really encountered any bitchy, cliquey type mums as of yet, that friends have told me about so I was a bit 😮wtf 🤷‍♀️
