To not know what this song/dance is?

Apparently this dance routine is viral but I’ve only seen it for the first time last night??
There’s a song to it and everyone sort of stands in rows and does the routine, lean forward and clap then step and turn at the same same repeat, goes on forever. What is this??

Cha cha slide? It's not new though as I was doing it 20 years ago 😳

Plump82 · 15/09/2019 14:00

The slosh?

BogglesGoggles · 15/09/2019 14:06

You do t mean the Macarena do you?

Templetonstunafish · 15/09/2019 14:09

That sounds a lot like the macarena? Did you grow up under a rock?

EduCated · 15/09/2019 14:10

Saturday Night by Whigfield?

InsertFunnyUsername · 15/09/2019 14:11

It's like candy?

Helpmelmaooo · 15/09/2019 14:13

It’s only been out the last few months I think and it’s a really repetitive song and dance

The Git Up - Blanco Brown

steff13 · 15/09/2019 14:16

How does the song go?

Helpmelmaooo · 15/09/2019 14:16

@MegaMonsterMunch it’s not that although that’s the one that kept popping up. It’s sung by a man with a high voice and it’s quite slow

I can’t remember any of the lyrics but it’s driving me mad, you sort of hop and turn 90 degrees at the same time then lean forward clap and repeat

Candy, by Cameo?

farmthelettuce · 15/09/2019 14:21

Definitely candy from the sounds of it

SweatyUnderboob · 15/09/2019 14:25

The dance is called the electric slide... the song is Candy

steff13 · 15/09/2019 14:27

I thought it sounded like the Electric Slide, but OP said it was new. That dance is a zillion years old. Certainly she'd have encountered it before now. Here you can hardly go to any wedding, bar mitzvah, etc., without people doing it.

SchoolNightWine · 15/09/2019 14:32

Elderbrook & Rudimental - Something About You? Not quite the dance you describe, but recent, high pitched voice and slow.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/09/2019 14:34

I thought the slosh as well. I don't think any of these are that new are they, people just start doing them to new music!

Helpmelmaooo · 15/09/2019 14:44

It was candy! Sorry I didn’t realise it wasn’t new I’m awful with music 😂 thanks everyone x

😁💃

BillyAndTheSillies · 15/09/2019 14:54

Candy. Definitely not new, it's been a staple at family parties since I can remember.
But, it does go on forever!!!
