to be depressed because of my teeth?

I am only 29, but have yellow teeth. I was born with 4 teeth missing (they never grew) so have a bridge to replace these. They've changed over time and now no longer match the colour of my real teeth. I have gaps in between my bottom teeth, which aren't nice. They aren't very white and chip easily. I just hate them and they're too expensive to fix. How do I move passed my horrible teeth? Part of it is my ex who was abusive and used to say 'we can't all have teeth like mine' and when I confided in him stupidly he said 'yeah I had noticed'. It's not just me though, they are horrible. Anyone else out there with manky teeth but still somehow feel attractive?

I do sympathise with you. I am really self conscious of my teeth & got braces a little while back. I'm glad your ex is your ex. He sounds like a knob!

Me, but I'm paying to get them fixed. I got a bleaching kit for starters (295) and once the teeth are bleached, they're going to put fillings on the front of the top front 4. Can't wait to see finished product. My smile is like Shane McGowan's.

Are you registered with a dentist atm? Because a scale and polish might help. No, it won't be a drastic change at all but it will brighten things up a little. I think it's around £25.

I too sympathise as I've also had problems starting in my early 20's. I had to have my 2 front teeth crowned which initially matched my other teeth but over the years my real teeth have discoloured so I got 4 veneers (like a false nail put over your real teeth).
Unfortunately, it's classed as cosmetic so you have to pay. With your bottom teeth I think the only way to fix them would be a brace . Have you been to talk to a dentist ? You'll need an orthodontist for the brace. I was allowed to pay in instalments for mine.
It really knocks your confidence doesn't it? I used to hate smiling. Still not great at it now but that's years of putting hand over my mouth etc. If you could save (if your circumstances allow) it would be a worthwhile investment in the long run but as I said I paid in regular instalments so that might be an option for you Flowers

You can get scale and polish or whitening on groupon also braces cheap and other dental work.

If you are registered with a dentist you can get treatment to deal with this but it will be an uphill and prolonged task. One thing you might try is seeing whether the dentist can refer you to a dental teaching hospital to be a training aid to students.

That might be a step too far?
