I will, it's very anmoying!

Dragonglass · 12/09/2019 20:05

Silly question but why does it matter? If you aren't going to go back to the thread then thou won't see the bookmark anyway Confused

Ginmel · 12/09/2019 20:09

Thank you to everyone who has started posting on the site stuff thread. Knew I wouldn't be alone!

@dragonglass guessing you don't post regularly on some threads. One off post of course wouldn't be an issue

OP posts:
Dragonglass · 12/09/2019 20:10

Sorry, I still don't understand what the issue is. I'm tired and just not getting it.

Namenic · 12/09/2019 20:14

I don’t like it either.

ChicCroissant · 12/09/2019 20:16

I don't have the option to bookmark on my laptop anyway, I wish I did!

Ginmel · 12/09/2019 20:24

25 people in 20 minutes. Hooray!

megletthesecond · 12/09/2019 20:27

Yes. I did it accidentally earlier this week and it's annoying me.

SconeofDestiny · 12/09/2019 20:29

I don't understand OP?
You press bookmark and then you can go back and Press it again to un bookmark it.
It couldn't be easier.
I'm on the App so are you talking about the web version?

Ginmel · 12/09/2019 20:29

@scone yes I use the browser on my phone and you can't turn the bookmarks off

OP posts:
FlaviaAlbia · 12/09/2019 20:35

Can't you just bookmark the last post in the thread? Then the next time you open the thread it'll take you to it, then bookmark the last one again?

StripyPaperBag · 12/09/2019 20:36

I agree with @SconeofDestiny, easy to switch off by repeating the same actions as to bookmark.

ContinuityError · 12/09/2019 20:36

You can’t un-bookmark on the mobile version. Agree, it’s quite annoying.

EarringsandLipstick · 12/09/2019 20:39

I still don't het this.

I use the app and web version on desktop.

I bookmark (obviously) to mark where I've read to.

If you do it by mistake, surely you just keep reading, then bookmark where you've now got to with the thread?

Why do you need an undo function? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Trewser · 12/09/2019 20:41

Yes it's annoying

donquixotedelamancha · 12/09/2019 21:00

I don't understand OP? You press bookmark and then you can go back and Press it again to un bookmark it. It couldn't be easier.

This must be an app thing, I can't do this on either mobile or desktop.

ScruffGin · 12/09/2019 21:28

I can't remove them either and I keep hitting them by accident!

SoxonFeet · 12/09/2019 21:30

I do this all the time when browsing on my phone. It doesn’t automatically come off either when you click it again. I hate it as a feature, especially if I’m following a thread

Lougle · 12/09/2019 21:45

I don't understand either. If you bookmark and didn't intend to, no harm, no foul - you aren't going back to the thread, so you won't see your bookmark.

If you bookmark and intend to return to the thread, you just keep bookmarking as you go.
