I’m on a train on the Piccadilly line ...
need to go to LHR terminal 5 ...
Train I’m on days T1-4 ?!
Sorry idiot tourist ...
do some trains only do these terminals ...

?

If so best options to transfer ?

I’m already late ...
can anyone advise ?

Just get off anywhere along piccadilly line and wait for a T5 one to come along. Should be within a few mins

I would stay on the train and get a transfer at the other end

I THINk the official thing to do is change at Hatton Cross, but anywhere will do.

You need to change at terminal 2 or 3 to get the train ( also Piccadilly line) to terminal 5.

You can change earlier as other posters said

Yes, get off somewhere convenient and wait for a T5 train. You can check how long you will wait for the next T5 train on the tfl site - just do a ‘plan my journey’ and put in the next stop on the Piccadilly line to where you are now.

Get off at 2/3 and get the next train for 5

If you’re anywhere near Acton Town there will be a train from platform 2 in 6 minutes (so 19:10)

Big shout out to security team at LHR who saw my panic and rushed me through both scanners and ran me to the gate 😀
