I just had to share my small but somewhat random good fortune 
On my way home popped into a pub for a coke, and to use their awesome mirrors in their toilets to send a few selfies to friends. I realised I was starving, had no food in the house (supermarket delivery this evening) and suddenly started craving chips from the chippie round the corner from me.
As having a takeaway in the middle of the day is unheard of for me, I had a bit of an internal battle. In the end I put my fate in the lap of the gods. If, and only if, I had enough change for chips, then I would get them.
I hardly ever use cash, so rummage in my purse. £1.30. No idea how much chips are there, I check in the depths of my bag to be sure. Another 20p. Win.
As I get up to use the loos, I look down (and I promise this is absolutely true), I see 20p directly at my feet 
So with £1.70, I walk back towards the chippie, thinking woohoo chips! Look in the window... £1.80 
Now yes, I assume they take cards, but this wasn't the deal. So I popped the couple of doors down to my flat, and hunted a few pockets in the laundry... nothing. I don't use cash, there's not going to be random coins about. Just as I was about to give up, I had a lightbulb moment. My mum had given me (I'm not sure why ) a pretty money box for my birthday. It looks nice but I've got enough clutter about so I don't display it or use it. I dug it out and found...
one 5p and 8p in coppers.
So I'm happily munching my chips wondering vaguely if I should buy a lottery ticket.
Has anyone else got any strange serendipitous or lucky stories?
