Some months ago there was a post on here about a lady that had lost national insurance contributions as a stay at home mum because she had opted out of taking child benefits due to her oh wages. We opted out of child benefits over a year ago and this post made me contact them. I spoke to both the Gov Child Benefit line and then the national insurance contributions line and they both told me this is rubbish, just because you opt out of taking child benefits your contributions are still taken. Please help me did the previous post so I can re read it. Thank you

This article seems to suggest that if you previously got it and then opted out you’d be ok
