To burn my house down?

I found this crawling in one of my beds what the fecking hell is it? It was maybe the size of my little finger nail and flat. I don't think it was a cockroach as I've seen them before when abroad I'd didn't appear to fly.

To burn my house down?

just a beetle of some sort i think?

AnOojamaflip · 10/09/2019 15:14

Yes, a beetle.

Not a cockroach, put the matches away!!

I call these Stink Bugs! They crop up every now and again in our house...quite recently they've been bloody huge though. I was once told that if you crush them to kill them they let off a horrible smell (hence stink bugs)
but have never tested this theory - I just catch them and throw them out!

P.s they do fly!!

easyandy101 · 10/09/2019 15:22

Maybe some kind of shield bug

threecatsownme · 10/09/2019 15:23

Thank you all. I don't do creepy crawlers I fucked it out the window and it didn't fly so assumed it couldn't.

It's a shield bug. They very very very rarely bite. They also come in lots of interesting colours and patterns, and I rather like them.

But sure, burn your house down like the adult you are. The matches go red end towards the box.

KUGA · 10/09/2019 15:43

Yes a beetle.
But burning the house down`s a bit extreme.
Made me LOL though.

VeganCow · 10/09/2019 15:54

Shield bug, have seen some lovely green ones recently

bellainthemiddle · 10/09/2019 15:59

Lol, I think you're safe OP - put the matches back in the drawer!

On a serious note, the best remedy for cockroaches is Olbas oil, or similar. Seriously! Put it down everywhere and they'll never be seen again. And you'll have lovely clear sinuses to boot ;)
