To think that this is now my money?

Did a balance transfer from a credit card of mine into my current account with another bank. At least I thought I had. In actual fact I had had the money put into my credit card with that bank, leaving me with a large credit on the credit card.

Thought it would be a simple matter of drawing the money and placing it in my current account but no, apparently I have to ask Barclays to recall the balance transfer.

AIBU to think that this is my bloody money and I want it out as I see fit?

YABU, it's a known form of money laundering to put credit cards into a large cash surplus and withdraw. Not only that but they may believe you are trying to defraud Barclays as a balance transfer normally only goes to a credit card and a money transfer goes to a current account. Normally these have different fees and rates.

Travis is correct, this would prompt concerns around money laundering.

Ah I see, fair dos then!
