My budget is £600-850. I'll need it for web use, accounts and photo storage. Would like it fast and 15" screen.

I have a Microsoft surface pro that I quite like. I don't think it comes as big as 15" though. But worth a look.

Acer nitro S it's gaming laptop so is pretty beasty but quite heavy. I need something powerful can't stand slow computers. 600 pounds at pc world.

For that money a refurb'd high spec machine will be excellent value.
e.g. pretty much any of these

make sure you have an SSD as the hard-drive (don't worry about the smaller size, you can get a second external drive to back up more photos, or just use more memory cards)

And get a decent screen resolution should be 1920x1080 on 15" really.

The refurb'd business machines won't be sexy, but they will be considerably harder wearing than anything else you can get. 600 is probably more than you can usefully spend really.

(no relationship with that company other than customer btw, but have bought a number of machines without problems)

HP x360 best laptop I have ever had and I work from it all day at home.

Idontwanttotalk · 09/09/2019 21:32

I second the HP360. I've had Sony Vaios in the past so scared to change but my HP laptop is fabulous. Touch screen, converts into tablet mode by folding down, has an Intel i7 processor so nice and speedy (suitable for gaming) with 128 Gb SSD and 1 Tb standard hard drive.

Also recommended by Which? magazine.

Great thank you - is the HP360 the Hp Envy 360?
