Anybody good at sewing who can help?

Sorry, just posting in Aibu for traffic as it’s an emergency! Are these salvageable or are they fucked? They’re not mine, I borrowed them off a friend and I fell over and ripped the seam but the materials come apart. Are there any tricks to fix these or shall i try and buy a new pair?
Thankyou!

If they were loose fit then they are salvageable - as you could take in seam slightly
If good or tight fit then they would likely either not fit or pull apart again.

I don’t think they’re salvageable

It looks like there's about a cm of damage above the seam but it's hard to tell from photo. That means there is going to be a very obvious stitch-up job. If there were more fabric to play with you might have been able to unpick and restitch the whole seam, taking in by about a cm but it looks like they are quite narrow from the photo. If you have a seamstress/dressmaker/alterations person locally you could always take them to them and see what they say, you've got nothing to lose.

I just found this on youtube

I’m up for tackling most repairs but that’s looks too far gone and certainly for something belonging to someone else ie if they were my own and I loved them and that was an inconspicuous seam I might attempt an underpatch but you’d need a magic wand to make them acceptable as a loan.

Is it clothing ? Yes you can take it in but you will loose a couple of cm's

Ordered a new pair. Definitely can’t get away with losing and cm’s.
