I have just been diagnosed with eczema and prescribed betnovate. I am away on holiday in uk and have lost the tube and the itching is driving me insane!is there anything I can buy over the counter?

Try a pharmacy. It depends where you are as to what you can buy

1% hydrocortisone is probably the only thing that you could buy, the normal piriton, apple cider vinegar to try and calm the itch, or a cream called eurax claims to help stop the itch. I have chronic eczema and during my pregnancy couldnt use any of my normal steroids or antihistamines so had to try a bunch of different things. I hope you find something, the eczema itch is awful, I really sympathise x

You can go to a local gp surgery wherever you are and sign a temporary resident form and get them to prescribe your usual cream.

You will probably get short shrift off a pharmacy. Go to a GP’s surgery.
