AIBU to have thought unibrows look disgusting?

Hi everyone. A month or so ago I made a post regarding my daughters wishes to grow a unibrow (I know, it sounds ridiculous) and I got almost nothing but hate.
Now, at the time, I didn't exactly read through every single one of the posts, but today, I had a look through it. I am disgusted at what some of the answers were. I had been called a racist, an uncaring mother, basically abusive etc.
I am so, so confused. Yes, I did think that unibrows looked disgusting and honestly I still do. My daughter looks beautiful with or without a unibrow, and to go far as to say that I don't care about her is honestly upsetting to me. I am very, very angry. My daughter wanted to grow a unibrow because of a random woman she found out about on instagram, and just because I didn't want my daughter to grow one I was called a bad mother! She's fifteen. I know what's best for her.
I have let her grown the unibrow and I hope you think i'm a good mum now Hmm
Honestly.

This must sound bloody pathetic but I am very peed off. I can't believe this happened.

So you wrote one goad post and then you’ve become to write another? Or is this supposed to be funny?

No one cares if you’re a good mother or if your dd has a unibrow.

Sparklingbrook · 08/09/2019 21:16

YABU to make another thread about it.

Shehz21 · 08/09/2019 21:22

Omg can we report this post to MNHQ for being repetitive and annoying all over againGrin

Yes OP you are unreasonable.

Albatross454 · 08/09/2019 21:25

I'm not making a similar post, I'm really just getting at how some of the other mothers here can just say that I'm a bad mum... Just a bit peed off at the moment aha Grin

OP posts:
Laiste · 08/09/2019 21:25

Ay?

Albatross454 · 08/09/2019 21:26

I think I should try and change the thread title.. I wasn't trying to talk about the unibrow fiasco again, that's over, I was getting at some of the other mums on this website.

OP posts:
Laiste · 08/09/2019 21:27

Didn't see the first thread, but - how do you grow a uni brow if you haven't got one already? Confused

Sparklingbrook · 08/09/2019 21:27

TAAT?

I couldn't grow a unibrow if I tried.

RosaWaiting · 08/09/2019 21:28

Confused
I have spent half my life removing my unibrow but it’s her choice

I just think coming on a public forum to say you think your daughter has made a cosmetic choice that you don’t like, is a bit grim.

Albatross454 · 08/09/2019 21:28

@laiste She has middle eastern background and has a unibrow if she doesn't shave it off every week Smile

OP posts:
JumpyLiz · 08/09/2019 21:29

Are you drunk?

You were handed your arse because of your views on how you felt you should dictate how and what your daughter did or did not do with HER own body.
You specifically stated that you would be embarrassed by her if she didn't remove her hair to your preferred standards.

Albatross454 · 08/09/2019 21:29

@rosawaiting I understand what you mean, but it's quite grim to call mums that you've never meant before uncaring and bad mothers, surely?

OP posts:
RosaWaiting · 08/09/2019 21:29

“I was getting at some of the other mums on this website”

I didn’t see the origin thread. And btw, you say “I can’t believe this happened” - you can’t believe what happened?

(No one say “butter”) 😂

Laiste · 08/09/2019 21:30

Ah! Clearer now.

I think this thread is going to turn into a copy of the first one OP.

RosaWaiting · 08/09/2019 21:30

*original thread
I’m curious about it now....

misspiggy19 · 08/09/2019 21:30

Why would anyone choose to have an unibrow? They are hideous

Albatross454 · 08/09/2019 21:31

@jumpyliz I did state that, and I honestly think that I should have worded it better. I do not feel this way about my daughter. I was just worried what other people would have thought.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 08/09/2019 21:31

Why is it just Mums on this website you want to get at? Confused

Albatross454 · 08/09/2019 21:31

@sparklingbrook I've never dads on here Grin

OP posts:
PookieDo · 08/09/2019 21:32

I had one when I was a kid and didn’t know how to pluck it or anything. I was so so teased over it. I wish people weren’t so obsessed by such trivial things. I only have to remove mine because it seems so socially unacceptable to have one

nocoolnamesleft · 08/09/2019 21:32

YABU: you are, again, saying that you consider your daughter's natural eyebrow growth pattern looks disgusting. That is appalling.

I frankly thank god you don't have a child who was born with a facial deformity, as your attitudes would have destroyed them.

Albatross454 · 08/09/2019 21:33

@rosawaiting I can't believe some of the answers. @laiste This thread isn't to talk about the unibrow, it's to talk about how awful some of the people on here can be.

OP posts:
EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 08/09/2019 21:34

What @JumpyLiz said!

You came across as horrid the way you spoke about your daughter and HER body choices!

I hope she rocks her monobrow like Frida Kahlo!

Sparklingbrook · 08/09/2019 21:34

I've never dads on here

Eh?
