Have women gone mad?

There was an article in the Daily Fail yesterday (?), where some guy wrote in a very awful dated style a sob story about how Boris Johnson’s affair with his girlfriend (when she wasn’t his girlfriend yet) cost him his marital life and happiness.
Today the published this article about that parliament couch cover: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7439099/The-worlds-unlikely-sex-symbol-New-book-reveals-Jacob-Rees-Mogg.html

Seriously. I will never understand how otherwise well educated and intelligent women throw their ovaries on those total buffoons who don’t even make an attempt at hiding their contempt for the rest of mankind. What makes them go for men who make the lads in wife beater vests clutching a Stella Artois can look gentle and nice?

Money, power, privilege, education, position, status.

They are all very attractive.

Their partners aren't necessarily looking for soulmates or anything romantic. Just the experience. It's an attractive life.

Tableclothing · 08/09/2019 16:22

It's not even limited to rich and powerful bastards.

So far today I've seen one thread where someone feels really mean for considering ending a relationship with a self confessed sociopath, another thread where a late 20s woman had been in a loveless, sexless relationship for 10 years and doesn't want to leave, and finally one where the OP's bloke is a criminal and OP has actually said "You don't know him like I do."

Then there's the gazillion "I always knew he was a bit selfish/lazy/childish but I thought he would magically change when we had kids" ones.

Someone married Spencer Matthews.

I'm starting to think that How To Spot And Dump Bad Life Partners should be a compulsory GCSE. I don't know why women do this to themselves either.

Venger · 08/09/2019 16:24

The blame doesn't lie with women.

It lies with these utter dickheads who think its acceptable to treat women/people that way and a society that conditions women to think that they should put up with this bullshit because the wrong man is better than no man.

EerieSilence · 08/09/2019 16:39

@Venger, I think you might be right. We are conditioned by the society to believe that we need a proper stronger (financially and/or by their status) man in our lives. It boils my blood, tbh because this is how they’re trying to impress the electorate now. There’s nothing loveable and cute about the Blow.. eh Boris Johnson and his mumbling buffoony persona on purpose, IMHO is all fake. JRM is another extreme, all stiff upper lip but we need to believe he is actually a loving softie underneath. Like lame fuck he is.

some women set the bar way too low and would rather have any man in their lives than none at all, it's the poor kids that result that i really feel for.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 08/09/2019 16:49

Everyone makes mistakes, I did!

mumwon · 08/09/2019 17:03

EerieSilence · 08/09/2019 17:44
