I Googled and I shouldn’t have - TMI

Have this dull pain in my hip for a few weeks, is sore if I stand for any period of time which is travelling down to my knee and now have a bit of spotting which I don’t usually as I have a Mirena.

Stupidly I Googled and of course the options are ovarian and cervical cancer (last smear was last year and all fine).

Obviously I am going to go to the GP ASAP but I have absolutely terrified myself Sad

Never Google!!
And keep calm. Probably nothing to worry about.

Hip pain which refers down to the knee is very common- could be anything from joint issues, to sciatica to a pulled muscle.

Spotting is also common on Mirena.

You're doing the right thing by seeing the GP but try to be reassured it could be a multitude of minor issues.

I hope you can rest tonight without too much worry Thanks

The hip pain could be a number of things, including nerve pain.

The spotting could be a polyp. I had one removed on Friday. We all had bleeding for the same reason.

I'm post Menopause and there was a Woman who was 72, in the clinic along with a mixed age.

See your GP but if your smear was clear, i think you're worrying unnecessarily.

Sounds like when I had sciatica
Try not to worry, easier said than done but I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about Flowers

It’s very easy to put ‘symptoms’ together and come up with awful things. You’re doing the right thing, seeing the GP.

I should have added that i have the mirena, for Menopause symptoms and it does cause spotting, even post Menopause.

Iamnotagoddess · 05/09/2019 22:02

I have sciatica in my other leg from nerve damage from a tumour years ago but this feels like a different pain, it feels like pressure .
