applying for jobs whilst LTS

I am on LTS with anxiety brought on by bullying and discrimination which I am challenging through a grievance, but the grievance process is dragging on and may not be completed until October apparently.

I have seen a job elsewhere that I really like the look of, slightly more money, I'm pretty sure I could do it and I know some of the staff (although not in the department this job is based)

WIBU to apply for it? My DPs say it would not go down well with my current employer as if I'm well enough to apply for other jobs, I'm well enough to return to my current one.

My argument is that it is my current workplace that is making me ill and my anxiety may dissipate if I worked elsewhere.

My DF says I may be asked what current projects I am working on and thus may have to lie to the interviewer. He thinks I may also be asked about any absences / illness and risk a bad reference from my current employer.

DF also thinks I could get dismissed if my current employer finds out I am applying elsewhere or get the job offer withdrawn if they reveal my sickness absence.

I have since heard via my union that they want to discipline me upon my return. Apparently my horrible manager is telling lies about me and what I am to be disciplined for is not my fault. My union is trying to fight this for me also and I have evidence in my favour but there is no incentive for me to return.

Would appreciate some advice. Should I apply or RTW then apply so I don't have current sickness to report or should I RTW and wait out any warning on my record even though the environment is awful and the warning would be undeserved?

It really feels like victimisation but I feel confused as to what I can do Sad

If you lie during interview regarding the number of days you’ve been off sick/ projects you’re working on they’ll 100% catch you when they get your reference from your current work. Your current work can’t say bad things but they can state how many days you’ve been off sick.

Have you been at your current work over 2 years?

over 15 years actually.

This year is my first time LTS. I have put up with my treatment for too long and I have had enough.
