"Scoff my face off"

I say this and in my mind it means "eat a lot" e.g. "I'm so hungry I'm going to scoff my face off!" But my best mate looks at me like I'm insane and says that she's never heard it before and I've made it up. Have I? Or does anyone else say this?

I've never heard it, or any variant of it.

Stuff my face, yes. Pack it away/Put it away. Stuffed myself. But not scoff my face - that would mean you eat your own face.

It's one I use sometimes! I'm in the North East, can't think if anyone else I know says it but no one has told me it's weird!

Or stuff my face with food.
That saying seems to be a mix of both phrases!

I don't think I've ever heard it but it's clear wgat you mean. It's similar to 'laugh your head off' surely?

I have heard it a few time but it doesn't really matter if no other human said it ever as it is perfectly easy to deduce your meaning.

Your friend is being a bit of an arsehole and trying to make you feel small by making out you're weird or something.

Pointedly ask friend for a list of pre-approved phrases you can use around them if they are going to be hard of understanding.
