Have posted in Geek but no replies (yet)

Some tech help please

How do I change the @AJones next to my Twitter handle? Let's say my handle is TwitterGal, when I tweet or reply it shows

TwitterGal @AJones

I've tried going into edit profile but can't see an option to edit the @AJones bit

TIA

When you edit your profile it's the name field

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 03/09/2019 18:36

I thought you can only change the name that comes before the @ address.

I don't know if this will help or not-because I'm not on twitter-but I I've had a similar problem, on a different site.

There was a little page to edit your profile-where it had boxes to fill in , saying 1st name 2nd name and email- (when I had first joined, it had automatically created me a profile that used my actual name- and I didn't want it to).

In the profile editing page it didn't have an obvious bit to fill in 'profile'/made up name name- so I wrote my profile name - like 'tinkerbell' (it wasn't tinkerbell) in the 1st name and 2nd name boxes, and then I wrote something similar to 'ilikeradio4', across the box saying 'email'. When I went back to look at my home page, I was pleased to see- it now said 'tinkerbell tinkerbell' and 'ilikeradio4'.

I had been worried it would not know who I was, because I wrote across the email box- but it was only on the profile information (bit that shows to the public) not my account details-which might have confused it, so it was ok, and I didn't have any problems logging out and back in again.

Anyway, I hope that might help- but I should say -I'm not on twitter, and not very good at that sort of thing, generally, either!
