Or are they just a one-man band now?

Johnson has thrown out a few pre-election sweeties.

(Nice that he found the magic money tree.)

But I don't see that lasting.

He's going to throw lots of money at the NHS, education and the police.

Not as much as they've taken away, but it makes for superb headlines.

Oh, and something about out means out and £350 million pounds a week.

NoBaggyPants · 02/09/2019 14:28

And tax cuts. Tax cuts for everyone!

ThePallidBustOfPallas · 02/09/2019 14:28

Many many promises designed specifically to appeal to Leave Voters. Lots of jingoistic nonsense.
The End.

PerkingFaintly · 02/09/2019 14:30

Surely he also needs to appeal to Remain voters to get in?

Huge number of Tory (and maybe-now-ex-Tory) Remainers.

I don't think he does Perking. For every Tory remainer there's a Labour Brexiteer. He'll be aiming for a Tory Brexit Party coalition. And the Lib Dems will no doubt drop their principles at the last minute if it means getting some power.

KennDodd · 02/09/2019 14:34

I think one thing they've learnt over the recent years is that they can lie as much as they like and for all our bluster in fact we don't punish them for it. So £350 million pounds for everyone and a free unicorn.

timshelthechoice · 02/09/2019 14:35

Of course he's not a one man band. He and his cronies want to keep their offshore funds safe from taxes.

But then you have Labour with Brexiter Corbyn and LibDems who will get in bed with anyone.

WarmSausageTea · 02/09/2019 14:37

False promises.

ShatnersWig · 02/09/2019 14:39

Tory Manifesto: We're going to do A, B, C, D and E

Tory Reality: Only E will happen, which will be tax cuts for the better off. A, B, C and D which are the things that sound great to appeal to the majority of voters (such as improved funding for NHS, Police, Army) but won't happen, or at least won't happen in the way we're all led to believe.

Brexit and the Conservative party will easily be elected on the back of just that one issue

PerkingFaintly · 02/09/2019 14:41

So if Labour promised Brexit, would they be elected on the back of that one issue?

Well that question got a deafening silence... Grin
