Apologies left my passport application a little late

Please can someone tell me, I am renewing my passport and changing my name as O got married a few years ago.

I have been married before but never had a passport in that name.

Do I include that name in the previous names section or not?!

If you've been known by previous names then include details of the previous names!

So your passport is in your maiden name of for eg Jones, and you want to change to married name Smith. You need to provide evidence of the marriage.

What surname are you on the marriage certificate? If it's Jones you will be ok to just put Jones I reckon. If it's first marriage husband surname I think you'd have to declare it and put in both certificates.

Was born Jones, married and divorced Smith but never changed name on passport and now married to Brown and changing name from Jones to Brown.

I was the same as you, didn’t change name first time and just included maiden name and new name. This matched marriage certificate. This was around 10 years ago but I had no issues.

There's a chat function on the website. Explain and ask them.

My online application only asked me to send my sons birth certificate but I asked whether I should include my marriage certificate too and was told I should.
