To swear at the radio

Earlier this week, whilst in someone else's office, the radio was playing quietly in the background - fair enough. What began to intrude on the conversation was the fact that the song seemed to be stuck - she repeated the phrase "How deep is your love" 23 times!
On the next day's morning commute the M62 came to a standstill, so I started channel hopping, looking for a travel announcement and another inane song came on - the phrases "shine bright like a diamond" and "diamonds in the sky" were used 20 and 14 times respectively!

Who writes these lyrics?!
Do they have an incredibly limited vocabulary?!
Is this a plot to send us round the bend?!
Why infiltrate the airwaves with the aural equivalent of acid being dripped on an exposed nerve?!?

Am I becoming Victoria Meldrew and am I being unreasonable to swear at the radio?

Perhaps you're listening to the wrong radio station....

I can’t stand repeating songs, they drive me mad!
When this song was big I felt like my head might implode, especially as one of my DCs loved it and played it on repeat.

I usually love a repeating action too

Usually listen to Classic fm, but in one instance I had wandered into the Accounts Office and in the other, I was channel hopping looking for traffic updates...

I went 'fuck off' really loudly when 5live informed me that the EFL had expelled Bury.

I hate excessive repetition - I now have two earworms because of this thread - trigger warning required in title Circe! Grin

I regularly curse Planet Rock.

"From the four corners of our planet" THERE ARE NO FUCKING CORNERS ON A GLOBE

"We keep playing music so you don't have to listen to adverts" That was an advert though? No?

To be fair if I listen on the app rather than Alexa they do play music instead of the ads, but still play the ad saying there are no ads. Irrationally angry I realise.

We have classic fm on quite a bit, but I do hate adverts.

Stopped listening to 5Live after what they did to Danny Baker.

I do listen to 6Music. It's great 95% of the time, but sometimes they'll fawn over music I just don't get on with. Like Idles or Loyle Carner.

Classical Music is your friend; no lyrics, just beautiful music, and on Radio 3, no advertising.

R4 Extra for me. No news bulletins ever, lots of comedy and book adapataions.
