To sell or not to sell?

STBXH and I are in the passionate throes of a messy messy acrimonious divorce, costing thousands and thousands.

I need to pay my fees, and I have all my no longer worn wedding jewellery - necklace, engagement ring, wedding band.

AIBU to sell these to help pay costs? They're mine, right? Not worth a fortune but probably a few 100. Could be really helpful.

If any of you lovely people have ideas of where to go that would be great.

Why not?

Sell away - but be aware that 2nd hand jewellery has nowhere near the value of brand new. Expect to get about 10-15% back of this original cost, assuming great condition.

Sell away if you are not wearing it or enjoying it.

If I was in your shoes the only reason I would keep it would be if you and your ex had a daughter together. The daughter might want to wear some of it on her wedding day for sentimental reasons

Ponoka7 · 29/08/2019 15:08

I would second only keeping it if you have a daughter.

Thanks all - no daughter to gift to.

Shame that jewellery once so significant has lost all relevance. The sentimental value just isn't there any more.
