Bought 7 days ago.
Hard boiled 6 days ago
Been in fridge past 5 days.

OK to eat, or not? If you think they will make us ill, please vote YABU. If you think they are safe to eat, please vote YANBU.

Do the Egg Test in a big jug of water, Puzzled.

If it floats, it's a witch!

Or off...😉

TheFlis12345 · 29/08/2019 14:48

The egg trick doesn’t work on boiled eggs!

Mamamia456 · 29/08/2019 14:50

They can be kept in the fridge for a week after hard boiling so should be fine.

xSharonNeedlesx · 29/08/2019 14:50

Says a week is ok on google for cooked eggs.

to eat these eggs?
cockcrowfarm · 29/08/2019 16:23

Smell it and see! If it stinks dont eat it!

BetsyBigNose · 29/08/2019 16:42

@cockcrowfarm - it's a boiled egg, it's going to stink no matter what! Grin

IAmALazyArse · 29/08/2019 16:46

5 days should be fine if stored properly. That's how long we often keep boiled eggs from Easter.

makingmammaries · 29/08/2019 16:51

Peel it. Taste it. If it tastes like a normal boiled egg, keep eating.

AngusThermopyle · 29/08/2019 16:55

I know someone who boils about 2dozen eggs in one go, refrigerates them and uses them over the course of a couple of weeks in salads, sandwiches etc. Grin

HaveeeeYouMetTed · 29/08/2019 16:59

I personally wouldn't but I am quite funny with food after a bad case of food poisoning a few years ago.

melissasummerfield · 29/08/2019 17:03

An egg cost about 15p so would you pay 15p to not potentially get food poisoning Hmm

Pinkblueberry · 29/08/2019 17:04

I reckon hard boiled in the fridge in a shell they’re probably ok.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 29/08/2019 17:08

They keep about a week in the fridge once hard boiled so you should be fine, you’ll know if it has gone off by the smell.

LaBelleSauvage · 29/08/2019 17:21

You can buy boiled egg 'protein pots' (I know) from supermarkets which I'm sure were boiled at least that time ago as they normally have a shelf life of several days.

It'll be fine as long as refrigerated properly

SmartPlay · 29/08/2019 19:05

You can keep eggs - boiled or unboiled - for quite a while.

Aprillygirl · 29/08/2019 19:25

Taste a bit Hmm

Unshriven · 29/08/2019 19:29

My friend works for a baker, a national chain.

They boil eggs for sandwiches at the start of the week and use them until they run out. 7+ days.

DramaAlpaca · 29/08/2019 19:33

Definitely OK to eat.
