AIBU to cook with squishy tomatoes?

Posting here for traffic as I kinda want to do it now Grin

I've been given some homegrown tomatoes. I left them in Tupperware in fridge a bit too long and several are quite squishy. Are they properly gone off or will they be fine blended made into a tomato sauce for pasta?

Just squishy? They'll be fine in a pasta sauce, actually, they will probably be even nicer for it.

Mouldy...Chuck em

Squishy tomatoes are made for cooking IMO.
That is what always happens in my house, and they are fine (unless they are mouldy of course).

They'll almost certainly be fine. Why don't you nibble one before you start?

StroppyWoman · 29/08/2019 10:40

Unless they're actually mouldy, they're fine.

never store tomatos in the fridge, they go squishy faster than out.

but for cooking they should be fine unless brown\mouldy.
I'm a fan of the sniff test myself Grin
