To ask for help with wasp stings?

I walked over a yellow jacket nest today and got stung 19 times.

I'm in fucking agony.

They haven't swollen much but have gone red and blotchy and are extremely painful and itchy at the same time. I've thrown up twice from the pain.

I just want to get some sleep.

Doctor isn't an option, I live very remotely.

I've take a Benadryl, anyone got any other wonder tips?!!

Ring 111 for advice. I'm only saying this as I wouldn't expect you to throw up after being stung. Hope you are ok.

karenbokaren · 27/08/2019 03:43

@BeneathTheMist not in the UK sorry I should have said. I think it was just from the pain!!

19 wasp stings?!!! You poor thing @karenbokaren

111 definitely.. for advice. Probably need anti histamines!

Calamine lotion? Do you have any?

What about hydrocortizone cream?

Hope you feel OK soon. Flowers

Or TCP? Or Dettol? Or germolene cream? Anything like that. Anything to bring the inflammation and pain down. Also anti inflammatories...

Did you try sucking the venom out? Depends where the stings are I guess!

karenbokaren · 27/08/2019 03:56

@Ravenblack

I've used hydrocortisone we had for caterpillar rashes. Lidocaine. Germoline. TCP. Itch x. Benadryl cream. Three different anti gay times. Sucking the venom out.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen.

It's just so so bollocking painful.

DH went to bed saying, "it'll be better tomorrow maybe." I hope the bastard gets stung by a hornet tomorrow, I won't be sympathetic.

I'm just glad ds and his friend got away. They swarmed us and we were lucky to get away with just me being stung and not 100s of times.

One of the fuckers stung me four times before I could get him off!!

Everything online suggests that you may need medical treatment, especially with that number of stings, intense pain and the vomiting. Are you in the US? If so you can call poison control for advice or use their online tool.

Ravenblack · 27/08/2019 03:59

Awww, I'm so sorry you're in so much pain. Not sure what else to suggest, but I am sure you will feel better within 6-7 hours... Maybe call 111 anyway for advice?

Hope you feel well soon. I have been stung by a wasp 3 times in 2 years.. separate times. And they all hurt like a bitch. Can't imagine 19 stings! OUCH! Sad

How long has it been since the bollocking sting-fest???

karenbokaren · 27/08/2019 04:10

@ClaraThePigeon I just did the online tool and it said to call them so I will do. Thanks. Didn't think of them for stings (even though we've used them before a few times for ds ).

@Ravenblack about 12 hours now.

I've been stung by just about everything going but bloody hell this is the worst ever!!

ClaraThePigeon · 27/08/2019 04:15

I'm glad that you're calling them. That's a lot of venom and not a situation to be taken lightly. I hope that you get the appropriate treatment and that you feel better soon.

DaisyArtichoke7 · 27/08/2019 06:25

My Mum put a baking soda paste (mixed with a little water) on stings. I stood on a wasp nest when I was 10 and got absolutely covered in painful stings. I was fine the next day.

Ravenblack · 27/08/2019 15:13

@karenbokaren

How are you today darlin? Smile

Feeling better I hope. In less pain? And recovering I hope! Flowers

karenbokaren · 27/08/2019 15:18

@Ravenblack thanks for asking. Less painful but the itching!! Sad

Poison control said they couldn't do much as I'm so remote.

I didn't sleep last night so hoping the itching chills out so I can make our annual girls night tonight!!

Awwwww bless you! Sounds like you're on the mend.

Try calamine lotion for the itching, and hydrocortizone.. If you haven't already.

Take care. Smile

And enjoy your night out later. TRY TO NOT CRASH INTO ANY WASPS NESTS!!!

Poor you. I hope that you feel better soon, and that you can enjoy your night.
