Reporting minor damage in an AirBB

We're in a lovely ABB abroad. Last night a large picture fell off the wall. No damage, but we cannot find the hook to put it back up. I've put the picture somewhere safe.

This morning I said to dh that I was going to text the owner and let them know. He said no, we should speak to them in person about it when we next see them. I think we should let them know asap (I think the owner painted it), plus, lovely though they have so far been, I don't really want to talk to them - I'm on holiday, pretending that this lovely place is mine!

Who is right? Me - text asap, or dh - chat when we see them.

I would text now - mostly because I don't particularly like talking to people (Wink) but also because airbnb is a business transaction at the end of the day, and the booking and so on is all done online. Good to have these things in writing too I reckon!

I accidentally damaged a fridge handle on holiday this year and sent a text to tell the owner. She appreciated the text and said not to worry about it.
I think bring upfront and honest ASAP is better. She also left us a great guest review which was v nice of her.

I'd just get a new nail and hang the picture back up!
