AIBU to never weigh myself again (light hearted)

Soooo. I'm fat. Size 18/20 fat (used to hover around 16 but have piled it on). I've spent a lifetime at SW and WW. When I get weighed I reward myself with food if Iv had a good loss or binge with food if I havnt. So weighed has gone up and down. I really cannot face another stint at a slimming club so I'm trying something different.

I started 800 fast and I'm doing it for 8 weeks - following recipes/meal plans and eating real food/balanced diet and drinking lots water. Pretty impressed tbh with the recipes so far.

My DH reckons I should weigh myself weekly. I'm planning on not weighing or measuring myself at all due to my bad relationship with scales. Dh thinks I'm being daft but I think I will see improvements with just my clothes (as they are so tight and I have clothes sizes right down to a size 12)

So IABU to not weigh myself.

If not weighing yourself gives you more motivation then don't do it. You are the one who wants to lose weight not your husband
Good luck

Absolutely your choice whether you weigh yourself or not.

I've been losing weight steadily for eighteen months (have lost six stone now) and my scales are completely mad.

I do weigh myself weekly but sometimes feel miserable if there isn't a good result.

However, I have taken countless garments to the charity shop because they are now too big for me. My DH says I look slimmer.

I still have a long way to go (have just reached size 18 - 20 as well) and find that if I'm weighed at the doctor's, their scales make me at least a stone heavier than my scales at home do.

It's very frustrating.

Do whatever you think is best and good luck.

YANBU I am not weighting and measuring myself too now. I will just go by clothes size. When they get lose I will be happy.
My goal is size 12-14 as I used to be.
I am 20 now so long way to go🙄

Looks like we're all size 20 and would like to be size 12 - 14.

This too shall happen.

For me it will be another year probably. I am not going to give up.

I suppose with clothes it will take longer to see results - looking at the scales will give you a bit more of a regular boost if it’s going well.
