Sometimes husband has no clue (lighthearted)

Just finished 5 nights of 12 hour night shifts. Last one was last night.

My husband has been off work this week. While I had a sleep after night shifts - Saturday during the day he took DS to football. Sunday they spent the day with In laws. Monday and Tuesday DS was at a holiday club from 9 till 4 which was run by the football team he plays for. Today DH took Ds to the park with his mum and they had a picnic.

Ds is 6 and wakes up between 8 and half past each day. I have been around to help with bedtime every night before going to work at 9. I have been up each day between 2pm and 3pm
Tonight he turned to me at half six and said “I am sooooo shattered do you mind if I get a really early night”. I think the look on my face said it all as he is sat there meekly reading DS a story before bed
Sometimes I do wonder if he actually engages his brain before his mouth

Also another thread of mine I posted about an incident on one night shift that had really upset me and almost made me resign. So he knows I have had a really tough working stint
