New neighbour nightmare

I moved to my lovely little house, just me and DD, in May after living in flats for ever. When we moved here, in both sides of me was single mums and their daughters.
My lovely neighbour on the left moved out the beginning of July. She told me a doctor was moving in - lovely, I thought, he will be nice and quiet.
In the last week his family have joined him.
I know children are loud and noisy by nature but this takes the piss. I think there's two or three, must be between 3-7, they are SO noisy. Talking and shouting at the tops of their voices, banging doors, running around, etc etc.
I'm so sad. Thought I'd escaped a lifetime of noise!
They've only been here a few days and I want to be welcoming and a good neighbour but they're driving me mad! Help!

Go over introduce yourself and make some sort of joke about ‘thin walls’ and that you don’t need an alarm clock etc..

I'd give it a bit of time. They've just moved and are likely overexcited. Maybe they'll start new schools as well.
