I had a bug overnight and now exhausted. Can't find family that can help today and dh at work and I thought I'd be OK but cant stay awake. Aibu to ask nursery to take him now as an extra day or will they laugh in my face!? They are fairly quiet this time of year

No harm in asking

CallmeAngelina · 19/08/2019 10:05

Ring and ask. I would.
Hope you feel better soon.

Lindy2 · 19/08/2019 10:06

If he already goes there and they have a space available today I can't see why there would be a problem.
Just phone and ask.

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 19/08/2019 10:07

YANBU to ask, but YWBU to be upset if they couldn't take DC

ClemDanFango · 19/08/2019 10:07

We would help a parent out like this is we have space and can maintain ratios, definitely ask.

Klouise777 · 19/08/2019 10:08

Thanks. I just don't know whether it's the done thing really. He only normally goes 2 times a week

I've done this a few times. They've never not taken him. Feel better soonThanks

Wildorchidz · 19/08/2019 10:09

Is it a vomiting bug that you have ? If so I’d think twice about asking the nursery to take him ...

Angeldust747 · 19/08/2019 10:09

If they have space they will be happy to take them as its more money for them x

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 19/08/2019 10:10

If your going to pay for the extra day and they can maintain their ratios then there really is no harm in asking

youarenotkiddingme · 19/08/2019 10:10

No. I think it's one of the most sensible and non whiny posts from an ill mum I've read on Mn!

Thehop · 19/08/2019 10:11

We never mind being asked.

NewAccount270219 · 19/08/2019 10:11

Definitely ask but don't get your hopes up - they know they're quiet in August and so staff tend to take holidays then so they may not have the space

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 19/08/2019 10:12

I've done this before, sometimes they had space and sometimes they didn't. I probably wouldn't if I'd been vomiting though, so depends what you have, to an extent. Hope you get some rest today.

Butterymuffin · 19/08/2019 10:14

Just ask, they will tell you if they are full.
