Aibu. Because every fucker just posts there. Ok frankly not unreasonable topics

I think hq should BAN. This topic for a few days. See what happens. Like when it was all on chat

I don't understand what you mean?

jennymanara · 19/08/2019 03:39

YABU
There are far too many topics. There needs to be a major pruning, although it won't happen. But there are some other parts that are very active. So feminism, relationships and chat.
It would be nice if there was a troll topic where all the trolls knew they had to post there.

MustardScreams · 19/08/2019 03:43

MN have been trying to reduce topic numbers, but as soon as they post the idea everyone suddenly decides they can’t live without it.

AIBU should have a posting limit on it, so you can only post after you’ve been a member for a month. That would at least prevent the constant fecking shit/period/wank/school trolls.

jennymanara · 19/08/2019 04:15

I think if they quietly did away with various topics no one would notice it.

Chocolatehat · 19/08/2019 04:19

I agree. AIBU is full of all crap like. AIBU to ask you to recommend a pram/holiday/hat. It just makes AIBU pointless because everyone is posting in it for traffic.

socksforfox · 19/08/2019 07:20

It's not a massive problem. Just don't open the threads that don't interest you. It's not like they are using up finite spaces for new threads. This thread, for example, is a waste of time and effort Grin

Lockheart · 19/08/2019 07:25

YANBU. The amount of people who use AIBU as a substitute for chat / Google / a doctor is ludicrous. That's not what it's for.

MustardScreams · 19/08/2019 07:56

There’s always one the days “just don’t read it!” like it’s the first time anyone has ever suggested that.

If anyone else is similar to me, I usually browse active. When 90% of the threads are imbeciles who are trolling/asking pointless questions then I might have to get off MN and actually do housework or something equally hideous. It’s an issue!

matahairyy · 20/08/2019 00:56

All aibu should have to include a vote

I understand your frustration and it annoys me too. It makes it difficult to navigate the site. But tbf it's difficult to gets response anywhere else. I've found relationships, pregnancy and conception tends to have a decent amount of traffic, but nowhere else seems to (not that I've seen, at least).

So I don't blame the posters themselves. It would have to be MN that sorts this out.

Howlovely · 20/08/2019 06:39

Why does it bother you so much? I can't imagine ever getting so worked up about people asking questions on an internet forum that I'm not forced to read/respond to.

matahairyy · 20/08/2019 12:41

What like this one! Why have you replied to a topic to tell me it doesn’t bother you? 👀

Howlovely · 20/08/2019 21:51

Erm, because you asked if you were being unreasonable in wanting to ban people who asked questions you don't like, presumably to get different people's opinions and that was mine. Isn't that what AIBU is for?!
