I'm a single mum to 9 month old. Abusive ex refusing to pay maintenance. Going through courts anyway so it will be dealth with but could take months. I've booked my son in to nursery. I'm on unpaid mat leave and going back when he's 1 year. My question is, how do I afford the first month of fees? Will universal credit help? I literally don't have the money but will be fine once I'm back at work. Really worried about this first month and looking like I'll have to use all 4 weeks of my annual leave leaving me with none for the following year. Can anyone advise on how universal credit works re this?
