Who do you trust more, Ken Clarke or BoZo? AIBU to choose Ken?

If I have to choose I’d go for an old school Tory over opportunist money men any day. So it’s Clarke for me.

Trust for/with what?
I don’t ‘trust’ politicians

ChampagneCommunist · 17/08/2019 11:34

Ken & Harriet as joint PM.

They've seen it all, have nothing to prove & don't need to give a shit about pandering to party members instead of acting in the best interests of the country

kitk · 17/08/2019 11:48

I don't think we'll get a choice... it'll be the politicians, but I would pick Ken

StillCoughingandLaughing · 17/08/2019 11:52

We won’t get a choice. This caretaker government idea is just that: an idea. Even if BoJo loses a vote of no confidence, it would be parliament that votes on any such governmental arrangement. No public input at al.

Ken Clark is a boring old fart remainer so it will have to be Boris as I voted Leave.

BertrandRussell · 17/08/2019 12:23

“Ken Clark is a boring old fart remainer”

Well, he’s a remainer, certainly!

BertrandRussell · 17/08/2019 12:25

Why would it have to be Johnson because you voted Leave? Wouldn’t you like someone clever and logical and thoughtful to help us negotiate through this difficult thing- regardless of affinity?

SilverySurfer · 17/08/2019 16:16

The OP has given us the choice between a BOF remainer and a bonkers Leaver (I did not vote for BJ as PM). Had we been given the option of choosing any Tory MP I wouldn't have chosen either of them. So I chose the one who I believe will take us out of the EU.

Naturally I would prefer someone clever and logical and thoughtful to take us out but neither of the two IMO, fitted that description.

HTH

Vgbeat · 17/08/2019 16:53

Neither as they are Tory but if my life depended Clarke as I am a remainer and let's face it who can take the other seriously 😂

BertrandRussell · 17/08/2019 17:00

If I was a leaver I would want Clarke too. He is calm, clever and logical. And able to command respect. And, as an old style one nation Tory he has at least some sense of responsibility for the less well off.

Well we know we can't trust bozo, don't we? Clarke is a Tory, which is never good, but the least worst option of that pair.

JacquesHammer · 17/08/2019 17:29

Arf. Because Boris is totes exciting 😂

BertrandRussell · 17/08/2019 17:30

Also we’re less likely to be embarrassed on the world stage with Clarke. He at least knows how to behave in a reasonably civilised manner.1

Operation Yellowhammer, 'a little bit of bread and no cheese', official document detailing the number of unicorns and the many rainbows that No Deal would/will bestow upon us. Thanks Brexiters.
