To want to move house?

I am utterly disgusted. We have a maggot infestation. I shit you not, thousands of maggots. They are outside our back door where our black bin is full, they have managed to come into the kitchen / hallway.

This has all escalated from this afternoon. I spotted a few on the (outside) doormat, DP poured bleach over them. Apparently these maggots do not give a fuck and have dramatically increased their group.

Send help, please. Sad

OMG that is grim. How the fuck has your bin got bad enough for that?!

Turn the lights off, pull the blinds down, put towels under all the doors. Light a fire on the floor to smoke them out. Call the Emergency Services.....not sure which....maybe Ghost Busters can help.

Pop your bin far away from your house with the lid open. Tomorrow there will be some well fed looking birds and no maggots.

ThisIsNotAIBUPeople · 16/08/2019 23:11

I have heard that ant powder kills maggots (if you happen to have any?)

starfishcoffee · 16/08/2019 23:12

I am absolutely horrified.

We were home late the night before the bins go and forgot to take them out. DS wears nappies, so I suppose that too.

I wish I could take the bin far away but unfortunately we live semi-detached with a small garden. DP has nuked them to his best ability, I feel quite ill. Blush

@ThisIsNotAIBUPeople

I've had a look but I can't find any. Sad

We have used just about every chemical in the house on them though... so hopefully they'll get the message. Eek.

Boiling water should get rid of them.

After that, any outdoor critters would eat them for you but using bleach and ant powder will mean you also have to sweep them up whereas the water will just make them nice and clean and cook them for the birds to eat.

Boiling water?

Boiling water seems to have done the trick (mostly). Thank God. I just hope they don't bloody multiply again.

I probably won't take my shoes off for a week though. Confused
