AIBU - adverts aimed at my mortality?

I'm approaching 60, and because I use social media, I'm being bombarded with adverts for funeral plans, will-making, walk-in baths etc.
It's making me suddenly quite depressed and aware of my mortality. AIBU to want them all to fuck off and leave me to just live my life?

You can adjust what Google knows about you and “correct” certain things.

Try being a 30 something infertile woman - it’s just as bad. Constant ads for pregnancy tests and ovulation kits. I changed my interests to sport in the data Google had built up and now it’s non-stop gambling ads.

Go into your Facebook privacy settings and go through the ad settings to turn off anything tailored to you. You can do the same on web browsers or use ad blockers too.

Unfortunately, we live in an age where data is more profitable than oil so we’ll be constantly bombarded with these ‘tailored ads’ now until we die.

However, if it helps, I’m 30 and get adverts for wills, life insurance and everything else that reminds me I’ll die one day. Super cheery isn’t it?!

You forgot equity release and care homes!

Oh yes. Wrinkle creams too.
I will go now and check my FB settings.
It doesn't take away the fact that I'm painfully aware that one day I won't be here. I know, intellectually, that our days are numbered, and now it feels very real. Sad

I have no problem with ads for wills, LPA, funeral plans...so many DON'T think about it in advance. Death happens...be prepared!.
I do object to incontinence knickers popping up on my feed

Relax, supersop60. Jeanne Calment lived to be 122 (plus change). Her recipe for a long and healthy life, apparently, was a daily routine of a whisky and some chocolate - sounds good to me. 😁

I'm over 50 and I'm actually quite grateful for some of these ads.

I've now got a funeral plan in place so my kids don't have to worry about money when my time is up.
