15/16 year old curfews

What is reasonable? My almost 16 year old has just left school and has developed a social life away from his computer. On a regular night (I.e not a party) what is a reasonable time for them to be home?

I say 11pm at that age. Nothing good happens after midnight.

10pm for mine (if they have something special it may be later)

10 Sunday to Thursday and 11 Friday and Saturday. Exceptions by negotiation.

I would have agreed 10 and 11 upon negotiating however my son has been out with friends tonight a 40 minute walk away (hanging out at a public place) and they were all leaving around 10 meaning I'm not expecting him to be in til about 10.45. Presumably their parents are more relaxed than me! I didn't want to enforce my times if it meant my son walking home alone in the dark.
