Basically, mum has HIV, is told by doctors not to breast feed as it will pass on the virus. Mother disregards medical advice and breastfeeds, child gets HIV.

Surely the mother should be charged with assault or have had her DD taken away? She deliberately exposed her DD to HIV!

And daughter appears to feel it was the right thing to do! I find that so strange... This case happened before people deliberately infecting others were being charged with gbh, although whether that would apply here I don't know.
