The best advice I was given for when you holiday and the curtains are see through.

Moisten the windows and ‘stick’ tin foil to them.

It might look like a meth lab, but the sun can’t get in and the DC stay asleep longer.

That's insane

Digitalash · 07/08/2019 16:36

Does that work?

Singlebutmarried · 07/08/2019 16:48

Yup totally.

We stayed in an apartment with white cheesecloth type curtains.

After waking up at 5am on the first day, I asked for any ideas and someone told me about the foil.

It ‘sticks’ better with the dull side toward the window.

We left it on all week but it takes a couple of mins to do so you could re do every day if you wanted.

Great for caravans too.

Don’t expect it to be restful and don’t compare it to pre children holidays; once I adjusted to that I’ve enjoyed things more.
Also relax about what they eat; it’s only a week or two so if all they eat is chips it’s not the end of the world

We're doing staycations this year only as DS is under 2 and it's just easier.

Self catering so you can have an evening that doesn't involve reading by torchlight. Take booze and treats.

Holiday with friends with similar age kids

Don't get hung up on routine, healthy eating etc.
