To have faith in this pregnancy?

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks. My husband and I were completely devastated.

I fell pregnant immediately... a little gift from
The Universe! I am sure of my dates, because I used ovulation sticks. I got a positive OPK on 22 July (so presumed ovulation on 23 July), which would make me exactly 4 weeks pregnant today.

Due to anxiety over losing this baby, my GP did blood tests yesterday at 3w+6.
My HCG was 37.
My progesterone was 75.1.

I was concerned by the high progesterone so I called the helpline at my Women’s Hospital. The midwife told the doctor my results, and the doctor was not concerned by the progesterone, but said my HCG was “very low”. I explained I was only 3w+6. The midwife said it was very low for even that.

This has me hideously upset and anxious. I am getting repeat bloods. The midwife said perhaps I wasn’t as far along as I thought... but I know when I ovulated thanks to the OPK, and I know because I felt it!

I know it’s just the opinion of one doctor, but they said to “manage expectations”. Looking online at what I should Be at 3w+6 gives a huge range of “normal”.

I don’t know what to think.

Any advice Would be so appreciated. Even negative... if I need to prepare myself for another miscarriage, that would be better than false hope.

Gosh, I feel desperate.

Thoughts?

There is quite a range of hcg levels in early pregnancy however I've had 5 mc and 2 ectopic - I've spent hours on line desperately comparing early hcg levels to try and give myself hope - I found a table on line which indicated above which level of hcg had the best probability of a successful pregnancy - I have to say all my pregnancy losses have been in line with what the table said and the level for 3+6 is higher than your result for the best chance of having a successful pregnancy (unless you ovulated really late??)

Sorry that's probably not the news you were looking for xx
