Gordon's School in West End, Woking

Hi,
We are planning to move West End in Woking, and would like to enrol my child to Gordon's School.
My child will be attending year 7 next September, so we need to enroll him in Sept/October.
We understand Gordon's is very popular and it's hard to get in.

So, we are worried if we don't get a place in Gordon's School.
Do you have any idea how likely the local people in West End get a place in Gordon's ?

Do you know what possible schools will be offered?

Do you know what primary schools in West End are popular?

Many thanks!!!

Yes you are being unreasonable.

Year 7 is High School not primary!

The catchment for Gordon’s school is limited. It’s also quite expensive to go there if you’re thinking that it’s s typical state school. There is only one primary school in the village.

There is a lot of building going on in the area, but the infrastructure hasn’t improved. Other secondary schools in the area are Winston Churchill in Woking and Collingwood College in Camberley. There’s also Tomlinscote in Frimley, but you need to be on the doorstep to get into that one.

Tomlinscote has been quite undersubscribed the last 2-3 years. A lot of people are choosing other schools as there's now no 6th form and other issues have come up. Collingwood is close on full or full in some year groups so it will depend on the applications in your ds' year.

Following with interest. Which other villages in Surrey have good non selective secondary schools?

Rosehip10 · 04/08/2019 04:06

Why haven't you posted this in education or the appropriate local forum OP? Idiotic.

For goodness sake, there’s not even an attempt to make this an “AIBU?” - it’s shameless. Yes I know people post here for traffic, but seriously...
