CHRISTMAS

I work for an events company, and we start selling tickets for our Christmas events in the summer - and tickets always sell out by October. But still, we have those customers who complain about Christmas being mentioned so early.

Christmas is our busiest time and biggest money maker. If we waited until November to sell tickets we would have no idea on numbers in order to book and organise our suppliers etc. Events take months to organise and selling tickets is one of the most important parts!

Clearly everyone is going to think you’re talking about a different C word!

I hate it because all the joy has been sucked from it by the capitalist machine long before December 25th. I love Christmas music. But not when I'm forced to listen to it from the 1st November.

There is almost three months of advertising and hype before December 25th - a local garden centre puts their Christmas stuff up at the beginning of October. So like a pp I'm completely fed up with it by the time Christmas day comes.

I honestly thought you were talking about the other C word! I was genuinely interested as it intrigues me how some people find it so offensive, when it simply means vagina! Lol!
Anyway I love Christmas and it's good to buy a couple of things each month to help budget for it.

But YANBU. Christmas prep starts in late spring here .

Whenever anyone mentions it out of season I say eg "we don't say the C word, especially in July".

I also follow card making pages on Facebook and it's full of making Christmas cards. Grrr
