Should I be worried about this?

We have had an offer accepted on our dream house and are now in the process of arranging our mortgage and survey. I was doing some research on the house/local area and came across a news article reporting that the owner was sent to prison a few years ago for operating a cannabis farm (elsewhere, not in the house).

For some reason this makes me feel uncomfortable and I am wondering if I should be worried? My main concerns are that a) he may have stashed something in the house and forgotten about it and b) people may think he still lives there.

YABU - it's your dream home, so what if the previous owner was reported to be growing weed.....it wasn't even in the house. Stop over thinking.

Agreed. Moving is stressful and you are fixating over nothing

This genuinely wouldn't bother me at all.

Was he just growing cannibas or was he involved with gangs etc?

Wouldn't bother me either.

When I was selling my last house my solicitor got, yet another, long list of questions from the purchasers via their solicitor, among the questions was 'has anyone ever been murdered in the house'?

It was a very old house so chances are it could have happened at some point, but I'd never murdered anyone there so told them 'not as far as I'm aware'.

I suppose it could have been a bit off putting if the answer had been yes.

wouldn't bother me unless the electrics had been messed with (which would of been at the growing house)
