To be fuming I have a cold in August?

I had the first niggles of it this afternoon. It's a full on cold now

One of those horrible ones where your nose is blocked but nose is running.

Argh! Why?! It's Summer.

Anyone else?

Not trying to be rude, but are you certain it isnt hayfever? I struggled with what I thought was a cold frequently over summer. A couple of years ago I started on hayfever relief after DH maghed me to the point I took the hayfever relief to prove it wasnt that, and since I've not had much of a problem
I promise this isnt me trying to be patronising, but may well help.

I can definitely tell it's a cold though. It's that horrid run down and stuffy feeling too.

I'm also a sufferer of HF but luckily not got it this year or last!

Yes, sore throat as well, summer colds are rare but awful, my neighbours teenager has it also.

Put it down to changes in temperature

The virii that cause colds don't actually really care what season it is unfortunately.

My DD has an awful sore throat and cough. It's been way worse than anything she had over the winter - very odd

Had it for the past 4 weeks - from blocked nose, to runny nose, sore throat, ear infection and now chest infection. And at the same time I tore my calf and am still recovering from that.

I have it. Baby started it, 4yo caught it and is still pretty crusty, and now I have it. Sucks, especially in combination with baby's sleep regression.

Started 9pm Saturday. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday I could barely function - whole body hurting/nose tap-like/eyes streaming/rubbish sleep
Temp high despite full doses paracetamol
But much better today so may be short lived

Sympathies. I was the same but mine started early July and only went last week. I’ve still got a lingering cough. It was way worse than in the winter and seemed to happen in a kind of painful slow motion. I was furious about it too, not that that did any good.

A cold in a heatwave just seemed like some kind of bad joke.

I had one in May and I was furious. I really felt angry with the colleague who gave me it as I'd just started a new job and it made everything feel so much more difficult. I know it wasn't their fault but still I sat there feeling really annoyed with them.

Me too! Feeling so run down. I have a long day at work too and I just want to curl up with Netflix.

DD1 and I both had a bug with nausea and headache plus diarrhoea which then turned cold-y. Mine has been annoying but manageable.poor DD is suffering far worse than I am and her cold has been of the congested ears variety.

Yep dd has it, my sinuses and throat have been fucked for a couple of weeks now
