Another student loan when I still owe them money?

Posting for traffic...

Am considering retraining in occupational therapy. As my first degree was in an irrelevant area, I would need to take a full BSc, not an accelerated MSc.

I still owe the student loan company a lot of money from my first degree. I graduated in 2005 and have not worked since having my first child 3 years ago, so not in a position to make repayments at present.

Anyone else been in this situation?

Would I be refused a second loan because I still owe them from the first degree?

Also not sure whether I could get a student loan if I did the course part-time?

Thanks!

Hi, I do this course, you can get funding for a second degree as it's a health care course so that's fine.
Not sure on finance regarding part time I was lead to believe not, but depending on where you are you can do full time extended which is basically part time over longer terms but still finishing in the 3 years. You actually get more finance for that than the standard FT course.
