to find things always go wrong when my period's due

I'm not sure how or why this happens but any crisis, disagreement or unpleasant situation that crops up in my life always seems to coincide with my PMT symptoms being at their very worst. And I honestly don't think that it feels worse because I've got PMT - it's as if the universe decides to throw problems at me on those particular 2 or 3 days each month just to kick me whilst I'm down. Anyone else or just me?

Yes!!!! It absolutely feels the same. Once ended up with my mother and my husband in hospital on the same day for different reasons and my period showed up!

hightymike · 30/07/2019 07:14

@jontydoggle it's a relief to hear it's not just me then!

I do feel this way, but in my case it's that things bother me when I have PMS that I'd take in stride the rest of the time, and also my thinking becomes quite woolly so I'm not as proactive or efficient as I am the rest of the month.
It doesn't befit me as a feminist, but I sometimes wish someone would shove me into a tent and leave me there for a week like in the Bad Old Days, if only so my ability to self-destruct during this time is somewhat curbed.

By the way, my period is due tonight. 😂

I get more clumsy when my period is due, so am much more likely to drop or break thingsConfused

Dolphinia · 30/07/2019 07:24

Agree!

hightymike · 30/07/2019 07:24

Thanks Nautiloid - I used to think that it was my ability to deal with things that made everything feel worse but I am now convinced that there's some evil mischief at play that throws a month's worth of trouble at me in the two days before my period.

Me too! It's the clearest sign for me that AF is on the way.

Probably the universe. It is an utter bastard.
