Social media and DC

I have 2 DC both under 3. Before the first was born, partner and I told both families, they are not to put any photos/videos on social media.

However, the same 3 people seem to think it's okay to ignore our requests and I'm sick and tired of having to argue my point for them to remove the pictures.

AIBU to ask that my DC have some privacy and safety and not be all over social media?

YADNBU! I would be furious too.

YANBU, I thought the etiquette was to ask parents permission

you can ask them to take the pictures down and remind them that you don't want to do it.
if they don't - tell them they have 24 hours before you report the pictures to Facebook (or whichever SM site) (not sure they'd do much but maybe the fear of you reporting all the photos might jolt them out of it)

I've done the threaten with reporting but they still do it, it's getting to the point where I'm thinking of cutting contact for a while so they realise how serious I am about this :/

Report them then - what have you got to lose?
