To ask here how much it cost for a ensuite?

Basically that really. Looking at changing the smaller bedroom to an ensuite but no idea how much it costs. I am going to get people round for quotes but could do with a rough idea.
I think about 5k but dp thinks it could be closer to 10k!
Has anybody had this done who can give me a rough idea please? (I know it all depends on the level of finish etc but could do with a ball park figure to see if it's worth while). Thanks.

We recently redone our en-suite and it came to £6.5k. We didn't get exactly everything we wanted as we couldn't afford the exact tiles so got something similar but cheaper to come in on budget. We didn't get her cheapest of the cheap either, it was medium price/quality.

It would probably cost more to convert a bedroom rather than redoing an existing bathroom, because there will be more plumbing work needed since I doubt the bedroom has plumbing at the moment.

depends on sewage pipes and access to water. If you have to move /instal a sewage pipe from the front of the house to the back (and water) for example it will be much more expensive than just routing water and sewage to a room that backs onto an existing bathroom

Thanks. Looks like his 10k is closer to the mark then. Was really hoping it wouldn't be that much. Maybe I need to look up some plumbing skills on YouTube!

We have just redone 2 ensuites and both were around the £7k mark.
so adding extra plumbing into a room where none is - would be at least 10k I think.
