After fannying around for ever trying to make plans to go to the cinema tonight to see Transformers with another couple (what was all that about?!) DP's friend confirms and says that we will go tonight to see the 7.45 showing. And we go on Tuesdays because the tickets are really cheap.
Apparently everyone knows that the tickets are cheap and its the summer holidays so Tuesdays at the cinema = busy and I am anal about being on time for things like that.
So me and DP get to the cinema for 7.20 - and the queue is MASSIVE and other films are selling out meaning that people who have turned up for them decide to see something different instead or go to a later showing of the same film and so those films begin to sell out etc. And I ask DP when we are meeting his mate and DP says that they do not have an agreed time
So we wait and wait and wait. And of course the 7.45 showing of Transformers sells out. Grrr.
DP's mates turn up at 7.50 and 8 and they are SURPRISED that the film has sold out, um, its the busiest day of the week at the cinema and you are here AFTER the film has started. Then we have to um and ahh for ages about whether to see the next (8.45) showing of Transformers because thats looking rather busy too. And after 15 minutes of not deciding they decide that thats far too late and go home.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH. So I waited AN HOUR for someone to decide not to go to a film. How irritating is that? And you know what, they didn't even apologise or look sheepish or anything. They were just outraged at the film being sold out.
And what 20 odd year olds with no children cannot stay out an hour later for one night of the week? As far as I am aware myself and DP were the only ones there who actually work full time and we coped!
Am I crazy to expect that when people make plans to go to the cinema they actually turn up in enough time to buy tickets and see the showing they want to see. They didn't even give a reason for being late!
AND AND AND the farking cinema was freezing - no heating apparently and so it was perishing in there. I can't actually feel my feet. And then I came home and spilt lemonade all over the 4 (expensive) birthday cards I had bought today. And breathe...
